Navigating the Carnival Jubilee: A Deck-by-Deck Guide

The Carnival Jubilee is one of the largest ships in the Carnival fleet, an Excel-class ship carrying up to 6,630 guests across 15 passenger decks, 87 venues, 24 dining options, and 15 bars and lounges. If you’re sailing on the Jubilee for the first time, or even if you’ve been on her before and still haven’t found everything, this deck-by-deck guide is the fastest way to get oriented before you ever step foot on the gangway.

One thing the Jubilee does differently from older Carnival ships is to organize its public spaces into themed zones rather than just listing restaurants by deck. Grand Central, The Shores, Summer Landing, Currents, and the Lido and Serenity zones each have their own personality and their own cluster of venues. Once you understand which zone is on which deck, navigating a ship this size becomes a lot less overwhelming.

Deck 4: Family Harbor and Kids

Deck 4 is where families with young children will spend a lot of their time when they’re not at the pool. This is home to Family Harbor, which includes the Family Harbor Lounge, an exclusive space for Family Harbor stateroom guests that offers large-screen TVs, video game consoles, computers, continental breakfast, and snacks throughout the day. Kids 11 and younger in Family Harbor staterooms also dine free in select venues.

Also on Deck 4 is Camp Ocean, Carnival’s kids club for children ages 2 to 11, and Dr. Seuss Bookville, a Seuss-themed reading and play area that’s a genuine highlight for younger cruisers. Family Harbor cabin categories include interior, oceanview, and balcony configurations, and the staterooms themselves are larger than standard and designed to accommodate families without feeling cramped.

Deck 5: Cloud 9 Spa and Chef’s Table

Deck 5 is primarily staterooms, with a significant exception: the lower level of Cloud 9 Spa, including the Thermal Suites and Thalassotherapy Pool. This is where the spa passes pay off most directly. The Thalassotherapy Pool is a heated saltwater pool available to spa pass holders throughout the cruise, and the Thermal Suites include a range of heat experiences, steam rooms, heated loungers, and relaxation spaces. The Chef’s Table is also on Deck 5. This is an elevated multi-course dining experience hosted by the ship’s chef, typically limited to around a dozen guests per evening, priced separately from other dining, and worth booking early if that kind of experience interests you.

The Salon rounds out the public spaces on this deck.

Deck 6: Entertainment Hub and Cloud 9 Spa Upper Level

Deck 6 is one of the most entertainment-dense decks on the entire ship. The lower level of the Jubilee Theater, one of the main show venues, sits here, capable of holding over 1,000 guests with individual seating rather than the bench-style rows you’ll find on older ships. This is where the three nightly production shows run, Amor Cubano, America Rocks, and Flick, each performed at 7 pm, 8:45 pm, and 10:30 pm.

Also on Deck 6: the upper level of Cloud 9 Spa, the Cloud 9 Fitness Center, the Punchliner Comedy Club, Piano Bar 88, JavaBlue Café, and the lower level of Grand Central.

The Punchliner Comedy Club hosts both a family-friendly early show and an adults-only late show, and it fills up fast. Arrive 20 to 25 minutes early for the late show, or you won’t get a seat. Piano Bar 88 is a sing-along venue with a resident pianist and themed music nights, worth stopping into at least once. JavaBlue Café is an à la carte coffee bar open from early morning through late night, serving espresso drinks, lattes, and pastries, priced separately from your fare.

Deck 6 is also where the Currents Zone begins its footprint, which continues into adjacent decks. Currents is an underwater-themed entertainment zone built around six massive LED screens and a 100-foot wave-shaped LED ceiling that projects immersive digital sea environments. Within Currents, you’ll find Dr. Inks, Ph.D., a bar serving color-changing cocktails, The Golden Mermaid, a specialty cocktail lounge with live band performances, and Emeril’s Bistro 717, one of the Jubilee’s standout specialty dining venues.

Deck 7: Casino, Steakhouse, and Grand Central Middle Level

Deck 7 is home to the Jubilee Casino, one of the largest casinos in the Carnival fleet. Sign up for a player card on embarkation day rather than waiting until you’re ready to gamble, and ask the casino host about sea day free play promotions early in the cruise.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse is also on Deck 7, along with the Art Gallery, the Grand View Bar overlooking the Grand Central atrium, the Alchemy Bar, the Limelight Lounge, Currents Bar, and the upper level of Pacific Restaurant, one of the ship’s two main dining rooms. The Fun Shops duty-free retail complex also spans this deck.

Fahrenheit 555 is dinner-only, priced at a $52-per-person flat rate, and reservations through Cruise Manager before boarding are strongly recommended, as popular time slots fill quickly. The middle level of Grand Central, the Jubilee’s three-deck atrium, is also accessible from Deck 7. Grand Central features a 14-foot LED screen, 1,400 color-changing ceiling lights, and floor-to-ceiling windows that make it genuinely impressive to stand in. It functions as a social hub throughout the cruise, with Center Stage hosting rotating live entertainment ranging from comedy to dancing to acrobatics.

Deck 8: The Shores Zone, Havana, Summer Landing, and Guest Services

Deck 8 is one of the most diverse decks on the entire ship in terms of what’s packed into it. The Shores Zone lives here, a coastal-themed area that includes Coastal Slice for pizza, Marina Bar for indoor and outdoor drinks, and Beach Buns for sandwiches and hot dogs.

Also on Deck 8: Bonsai Sushi, Bonsai Teppanyaki, Cucina del Capitano, Rudi’s Seagrill, ChiBang, the upper level of Grand Central, more Fun Shops, and the Pixels Gallery photo center. Guest Services is on Deck 8, along with the Carnival Adventures shore excursion desk.

The Summer Landing Zone is here too, featuring Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse and Brewhouse, The Watering Hole, Heroes Tribute Lounge, and The Patio, which is an outdoor pool and whirlpool area tucked into the aft section of this deck.

The Havana section is primarily a cabin area with its own dedicated bar and semi-private pool, the Havana Bar and Havana Pool, open to all guests but most closely tied to Havana stateroom guests until 7 pm each day. Note that children staying in Havana staterooms must be 12 or older.

A few dining notes for Deck 8: your first visit to Cucina del Capitano is free on the Jubilee; additional visits are $8 per person. Decks 9 through 15: Cabin Decks

These decks are primarily staterooms across all categories, including interior, ocean-view, balcony, and suite staterooms. A few specifics worth knowing by category:

Mid-ship cabins on Decks 9 through 12 offer the best stability and the easiest access to the ship’s main public areas above and below. Deck 16: Lido Deck

This is casual dining and pool central. BlueIguana Cantina is here for tacos and burritos, Seafood Shack, Street Eats for international street food, Big Chicken, the Lido Marketplace buffet, the Beach Pool and whirlpools, the lower level of RedFrog Tiki Bar, Tides Pool, and the Tides Pool Bar. The Beer Station on this deck lets you pour your own draft beer and charge it to your Sail & Sign card.

The Lido Marketplace is the ship’s main buffet, serving breakfast from 7am, lunch from noon, and dinner from 6 pm, though hours may vary. BlueIguana Cantina opens at 7:30 am for breakfast and at noon for lunch. Street Eats features rotating international dishes and is consistently one of the less crowded food stops on the deck.

Deck 17: Upper Lido and Teens

The upper level of the Lido zone sits on Deck 17, along with Guy’s Burger Joint, the upper level of RedFrog Tiki Bar, Circle C for tweens, Club O2 for teens, and The Warehouse, which functions as additional activity space. Some staterooms are also on Deck 17.

Guy’s Burger Joint is complimentary and opens daily at noon. The right-side line moves faster than the left, which gets cut off by foot traffic from the deck above. RedFrog Tiki Bar spans Decks 16 and 17, with different seating levels accessible from each deck.

Deck 18: Serenity and Ultimate Playground

Deck 18 is adults and activity central. Serenity, the adults-only retreat on the Jubilee, lives up here, with its own pool, whirlpools, Serenity Pool Bar, lounge chairs, and hammocks. This is not Deck 11 as it’s found on older ships. On the Jubilee, Serenity is on Deck 18.

Also on Deck 18 is the lower level of the Ultimate Playground Zone, including Carnival WaterWorks slides, the SkyCourse Ropes Course, the Sports Court, Mini Golf, and the outdoor Jogging Track. Fresh Creations, a light bites venue, is also here.

Find Serenity on embarkation day before it gets busy. Most first-time Jubilee guests don’t discover it until Day 3, by which point the best spots are consistently taken.
